Monstera Adansonii, also known as the Swiss cheese vine, is an easy-to-grow houseplant with show-stopper foliage. Each leaf is full of natural oval-shaped holes called fenestrations that earn the plant Its nickname.

Botanists believe that the holes in its leaves help allow light to pass through to lower parts. Swiss cheese vine loves to climb a stake or trellis or alternatively makes a lovely hanging plant as the vines will cascade down without support to climb up.

This is a jungle plant that does best in indirect light and humid conditions. Water when the top inch or two of soil has become dry and do not let the soil dry out entirely between waterings. They like humidity and in dryer temperatures, they should be misted and kept over a small tray of water filled with pebbles so that their roots do not sit in the water.

During the growing season feed with a little bit of weak liquid fertilizer. When potting up your Monstera you need to use a peat-based potting mix that drains well but retains moisture. Because this is a slow-growing plant you may only need to repot every other year.

Shipping and handling can be very tough on live plants. So please be sure to open and check your plant right away. Mist the foliage and check the soil for moisture. Before shipping and wrapping the plant, our team waters each plant. Therefore they may not need to be watered right away.
