Those plants love the warm spots with shades in your garden or your porch. Direct heat can fade the bright green leaves and burn the plant, and turn them brown. Just keeping the soil moist for these plants goes a long way.

The one concerning thing is that, shade loving plants attract insects such as spider mites, ants and whiteflies. If you see holes in your plant or white spots, those are the insect damages. You can use a good insect spray on infected plants to kill insects.
